Well, I guess after owning my vette for 10+ years now, it's time for **** to start happening. LOL (Kidding)
I pulled the codes and the 1st one was:
10-PCM P1416 H C
This was the only one that had a "C" with it. The rest just had an H, and I know that means history. I cleared all the codes now, so if anything else pops up it'll be easy to tell.
So, from an online resource I have determined:
P1416 AIR System Bank 2
Anybody want to tell me what this means and if I should worry?
Is my car just angry that I've been driving it in bad weather and it's filthy?
OK-I didn't read the entire thing, but it's part of the emissions system that adds air to the exhaust to lower emissions.
I thought I had a couple pieces of that replaced a while back while some other work was done. (oil pressure sensor).
But one of the members mentioned the cold air making a difference. When it happened last night it was in the upper 30s and I had just left a casino-the parking lot was cold and windy. I'll see if the code comes back.
THANK YOU AGAIN. I will read more of that in the future.
Just completed mine a few weeks ago. I did the alternative fix for the
P1416 air check valve. Replaced the check valve on the passenger side so you can get your hands on it if it ever fails again.
Go to YouTube and search for....C5 Corvette alternative fix for a P1416.
P.M. me if you need any additional info.
I tried the WD-40 fix three times....it didn't hold/unstick so I did the permanent fix.

I'll keep that in mind, but I could swear that some of this was replaced. I'll see if it happens again after clearing all the codes from the history.
