Default Memory problem

When I put the key into the ignition the memory position will maybe engage 2 out of 10 times, I have to touch the memory 1 switch to engage my setting's.

No doubt you know vettes but sometimes when I put MY key in the ignition switch the memory function causes my seat and steering wheel to activate. Sometimes it doesn't and I have to push the button.
As far as READING the owners manual, I have.
Thanks!

Nope, pages are there.
I have the car set up for the easy exit or whatever it's called and when I get in the car and put my key in the ignition the steering wheel, mirrors and seat go to their MEMORY setting. Sometimes.

Do you always close the driver's door before putting the key in the ignition? IIRC, inserting the key and then closing the door prevents (by design) the memory and easy/entry from activating.

I use my remote to unlock the car, I get in and close the door, I insert my key in the ignition and the steering wheel, mirrors and seat move to my preset memory position. Sometimes it doesn't and I push the button.
No big deal, no problem. I love this almost 15 year old car.
End of discussion from me on this.
Thanks everyone!

Still doesn't work. It is incomplete. I think this is the link you were trying to share

The seat fix
by: Anonymous

The intermittent, unpredictable movement of your memory seat is caused by a dirty potentiometer located in the seat motor. This is the motor that moves the seat foward and backwards. Normally the fix is to replace the seat frame, since the motor is not available. Or you can repair it. I repaired mine and it works like new.

How to do it:
Remove the seat. Unplug the wire connectors after you have removed the 4 retaining nuts. It makes it easier to unplug them. Set the seat on the ground, tilt the seatback foward and then tilt the entire seat back till the seatback is on the ground. You now have clear access to the seat motor at the top. Remove the two bolts located in the middle of the left (your left) seat track. This allows you to move the seat track and gain access to the two screws that retain the 90 degree cable adaptor at the top of the track. Remove them. Unplug the small electrical connector to the black housing on the right side of the motor. Slide the motor to the left, remove it and tilt it upwards.
You now have access to 3 small torx screws (#9) attaching the end plate cover to the
potentiometer housing located on the right side of the motor. Remove the end plate. Clean the circuit board and the tip of the contact spring located on the white gear that is still in the motor. Reassemble. Install seat and reprogram seat memory. Smile... it's fixed. memorymoremmmmme

Default Great Fix

https://www.corvette-web-central.com...-problems.html
Same problem, so far fix is great !!! A few points:
Orientate so the lid is on top before opening or the parts will fall out. The white contact plate is slip connected to the white gear below such that it can re-center its travel if not put together just right. I cleaned with alcohol & added, with trepidation, small amount of silicon grease to contact circles on circuit board.
Bent up contacts very slightly. If you disconnect the position sensor wiring it will still hunt when 1st get into car after unlocking.

I posted quite a bit on this back in the beginning and I have learned one thing...
If I use my fob (#1) and press the unlock button before I get in, the memory works every time!

Yep. The car cannot differentiate which key you use. You must use the fob associated with your memory settings to have the car make the adjustments or press the memory button on the door.

I had a similar issue with my C6. The trouble is that the passive unlock on the C6 is vastly more sophisticated in addition to the fact that I'm never reaching for keys because there aren't any. I'm not sure I've ever pressed the unlock button to get in my car. So of course the memory function is dubious at best. To make matters worse, pressing the button on the door only works if you have the parking brake on. My solution was to Simply set the default position to where I want the seats and forget about the easy exit function. Life is too short to wait on all that crap to move back into position anyway.
