Possible power steering pump bad?
It's a humming that seems to intensify when the steering wheel is turned, and changes in pitch with engine speed.
I can feel a humming (not shaky or violent) vibration through the steering wheel, most noticeably when at low speed or stopped.
I'm worried it's the power steering pump, but I was wondering if any of y'all had a better or more experienced second opinion? Cunningham estimated around 1500 over the phone to replace a power steering pump and that number is a bit scary so some clarity would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Change the pump yourself, it's not hard.

You MUST change the O-rings in the line as they will have taken a set and will leak if you attempt to reuse them.
You will need to rent a PS pulley installer from AutoZone/O'Reilley/etc. to install the pulley on the pump.

If you do change the pump and you buy a new pump and it doesn't have the pulley I would upgrade the pulley to a later version that is a little more rugged.
