98 c5 - dic buttons not functioning -help!!!

Hello All,

Well I got my new 98 c5 cleaned up and I am now starting on a few mechanical issues...

I just got new rims and tires on my vette, I am getting check tire system on the dash... I went to program in the new tire pressure sensors and none of the buttons are functioning at all.. when I turn key to on position it shows odometer miles and check tire pressure sensor

I am thinking it is a bad ground or a power issue... Can someone point me in the right direction of where to start here... I checked all fuses they seem fine..

Any help is appreciated

Hey i have the same problem i am trying to figure out. Prior owner i bought the car from told me it was his gauge cluster that was the problem but before buying a whole new gauge cluster i decided to replace the buttons. Well i replaced them and in my case, it wasnt the buttons. I still can't clear the DTC or tpms message (changed my rims and tires but not the sensors, yet). Bought a working gauge cluster off ebay and hoping it'll solve my issue.

Keep me posted..
If it works, Ill have mine rebuilt/serviced if I can.. Just found a used switch on craigslist.., Maybe ill pick it up...

I haven't had time to really check what's going on with mine yet, Been busy with fixing other things with in the car.. Still have few other things I am dealing with... Will get to that shortly..

Who did you get the cluster from on eBay?

I was looking for someone to repair the cluster in my 99, but so far I haven't found anyone who works on the Corvette clusters.

Hello Everyone,

Got the new buttons for the DIC in and still no go... Still does nothing... I pulled the BCM out to check the plugs and saw a few wires there previous owner cut... He said the cut wires are for the security system and have nothing to do with the DIC.. Well I am thinking its the gauge cluster itself now..

Can someone post a wiring schematic for the DIC so I can check and see if it is getting power or signal before I spend $400.00 to replace gauges.. would really like to get this working again.. I have check engine light on and I can't get the codes due to buttons not working..
