Default C5 differential mount discontinued?

Working on replacing my differential mount... Finally found the part number for the OE differential mount, which is 22178940 but all of the GM parts suppliers show it as discontinued with no replacement part number.

Is this the solid mount option everybody keeps mentioning is the way to go if you're replacing the mount? - https://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corv...1997-2004.html

How about this poly version from Hinson? - http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/p-135...corvette.aspx?

I can't imagine everybody is going with a $300+ aftermarket solid mount like pfadt / hoosier are offering... All the other alternatives I've found are cheap generic mounts which I'm not sure I trust.

Does anybody know what the current offering is for a stock replacement, or if the solid mount I linked to above is the way to go?

Working on an 02 Z06 if it matters.

Have you tried other manufacturers? I plugged the part number into Rockauto and got this>>>>Transmission Mount

If you drill down using the year, etc. you will also get other options.

Also found this at Corvette Central (they seem to have more stock items)>>>>>Corvette Central Transmission Mount

I would also go to you local dealer and see if they can find one with a nationwide search. I would be hesitant to use a solid mount.

Thanks vettenuts. I hadn't tried dropping the part number into Rockauto, also nice that Corvette Central has it in stock.

Unless somebody comes along with a convincing reason to go with a more expensive solution like poly or hoosier, I'll get it ordered up in the next day or two.

I replaced mine with a Hinson mount. It all but eliminated the wheel hop. My wheel hop wasn't bad but the diff was coming out and I found one on the forum so I went for it.

Have you noticed an increase in noise or vibration after going with the Hinson mount?

No noise but a very slight vibration increase. I did the Hinson engine mounts at the same time so it's hard to say how much of each affected the change. Again, very slight total change.

I tried one of those and it was a total piece of junk. The studs weren't even hard enough to be able to torque the nuts to factory spec; the studs broke first. Buyer beware...

I recently changed both the transmission and engine mounts for Hinson urethane. So far, I've not noticed any vibration or noise (but I just changed the exhaust so might not notice any noise difference. )

We here at SacCityCovette just released this mount. We prototyped and refined it on our 02 Zo6 630 rwhp.

LUX Trans/Differential mount (LUX TDM)
Designed for the C5 Corvette, SacCityCorvette’s SuperDuty LUX TDM will stabilize the C5 Corvette Trans/Diff and help eliminate drive train shudder that feels like wheel hop. The LUX TDM has a large amount of Polyurethane to minimize noise and vibration making it comfortable for street driving yet stout and firm enough to keep the Trans/Diff stabilized during hard launches, power shifting, racing or just spirited driving. The stock rubber mount is very soft and allows a substantial amount of movement especially with any type of power adders and Drag Radials/Slicks. Keep that Trans /Diff where it belongs with the LUX TDM!
Powder Coated for protection.
Grade 8 & 10.9 Hardware for strength.
Installed with your factory 2 nuts & 2 bolts.
Made In The USA!

Nice looking piece. What do you have for a decent replacement engine mount that wont break the bank and rattle your teeth out?

Hi Bill,
We are actually working on engine mounts that are similar to our LUX trans mount we make.
Also, our first batch of offset Trans mounts are almost ready, that are used for the C5 TR6060 conversion.

Thank you
Christian
