I wish I lived close to one of you guys! I would make an offer you could not refuse! LOL! I just have to think about this because honestly, I can change oil, filters, and drive nails into soft pine, and chop firewood....that's about all in my skill set!
Skills needed: Slide out locking tab (looks like a zip tie, don't cut it) on big plug. Pull locking bar down and remove big plug. Spread clips on small plug. Remove small plug. Unscrew 6 torx screws. Gently pry EBCM from pump assembly. Re-install. It helps to have small hands. I don't, so I removed upper hose and belt. Makes it easier to get to. Be careful you don't drop and lose the screws. If you are fairly flexible and take your time you might be surprised at what you can do.
If the EBCM was out in the open it would take a few minutes to switch out. The biggest problem is getting to it. I attacked it from the top and under the car. It did take me a while to get up the nerve to attempt it. I am glad I did and has worked great for 3 years.
