Default Flywheel balance weights, How do attach?

Anyone have pictures or description? I mean do they clamp on, fit in drill holes, how do you attach the new ones?
Also, is the flywheel "keyed" to the crank hub? If not then the crank hub, flywheel and balance weight position would have to be match marked by the installer.
I am having a new Z06 clutch put in my coupe and I want to go over the procedure before they start!

This is what I learned when my tech screwed up the (unnecessary) clutch install and lost the balance of my 01's engine. And two field engineers came to the dealer to rebalance my engine.

The the original fywheel must be scribed to the crank. The new flywheel must go on with the exact same orientation to the crank as the original. The scribe mark makes this possible. There is no "key." If scribing is not done and adhered to, you will get vibrations.

Use new balance pins. They come in a package. They are tension-fit.

The original fly wheel and the new one should be placed side by side. The correct NEW weight pins must be installed in the new flywheel in the exact relative position they are in on the original flywheel. If this is not done, you will get vibrations.

All bolts that have a torque spec must receive it precisely. Some call for a three step tightning process. It must be followed. All rotating surfaces must be cleaned with the proper solvent.

If you have a shop manual. Go to EVERY page that mentions clutch AND flywheel. Pay attention to the pages on "Flywheel Removal." Unfortunately, the manual is not well cross indexed.

Many techs do not know about scribing or installing NEW balance pins in the ORIGINAL positions. This is why so many new clutches "come with new vibrations." And finally, it's why it is good to read the manual and go over the procedure with your tech IN ADVANCE.

Good luck with your install.

Ranger, Thanks so much! That is just what I needed to take with me to the dealer. I think it is better to be safe than sorry on this one.
