my 04z has been sitting awhile do to winter but if there's no sand or salt I will drive it. I only had a half a tank of gas..I did forget to fill the tank. So today I started it up..it fired right up but with a big backfire bang! So I let it run and noticed a slight miss as I gave it alittle gas car is fully warmed up. Then as i turned the car off loud backfire again almost like gun fire lol..no check engine light, plugs wires are new. Can it be water or faulty injector?
Sounds like unburned fuel. May be sticking injector or no/weak spark.
Best to find out why, quickly, as excess can ruin cats and/or foul O2 sensors.
yeah I'm going to check that..I'm going to check the ohms on the injectors..how would i check the coils? Also i have a tech 2 would that help checking anything? Thanks

So here is my findings...the spark plug boot slid over the spark plug. The spark plug wire was not connected to the spark plug. I think this should fix it!!
So I fixed the exhaust popping which was cylinder 1..started the car no more pop but a ruff idel 2 came back. I hooked up my tech2 and it shows cylinder 3 86 misfires! So I pull the wire out of the sleeve and it's broken in half holding together by 1 tiny wire..how can I not have a check engine light? And what's more messed up is if i have couple of hundred miles on them it would be alot!! These wires are gm reds...but new wires.. problem solved!
