Default Z06 Drip Rails

I know this has been covered a lot, but I need some help. My Z06 leaks in the rain, just above the A-pillar. I have narrowed it down to the broken plastic "drip rail". I found a couple different part numbers and I am just wondering which one is correct 10331563 or 10331559? This will be for the left side on my Z06. Also, if anyone knows of a cheap source recommendations would be helpful. TIA

Are these the part numbers for the Z06/FRC or the targa?

The part #s for the later style revised Z06/FRC drip rails are 10331562 &
10331563. They supersede 10422996 & 10422997 respectively

It was my understanding however that these have been discontinued though?... Maybe something has changed recently, but I seem to remember Z06/FRC owners going through issues of having to source good used non-cracked rails. Even when new prices were in the hundreds for each side.

Thank you, I thought that was it, but a few sites said differently and I didn't want to order the wrong part

They are still available, $295 each through the dealer, cheapest I found online was $190. Seems a bit much for just a bit of plastic, but I have to replace my driver's side since it leaks.

There was a "how to" thread in the Z06 forum, but since that forum was removed I can't find it.

If you have a leak from the roof/drip rail area, its most likely NOT because of the cracked drip rail.

The SEALANT that the factory installed between the roof/windshield header and the A Pillar, shrinks and cracks. You usually have to remove the seal, drip rail and get all the OLD SEALANT out and replace it with new sealant.

Thanks Bill, I have a cracked reveal and a leak, so since I have to remove the cracked reveal to fix the leak I might as well put a new one back in. Or should I just re use the cracked one?

I do not think GM stocks the drip rail any more. I believe its an obsolete part. Call Gene Culley and see if he has any. I ordered my passengers side drip rail from him a LONG LONG time ago.

I just tried to order both sides of this drip rail for 2002 Z06 with above part numbers from Gm Parts Source online and when plug in the year, model and Z06 package says "NOT COMPATIBLE". Apparently the above part #'s are for the Base 2002 model only and show a very short plastic trim that runs from bottom of windshield to top of roof line and does not follow along the roof line at all. I need both sides and cannot find the one-piece.

Bill, I put a call in to Gene and waiting for a call back as the website that shows the part number 10331562 & 10331563 says that this is not compatible with the Z06 model. I've been searching online for hours and cannot find any drip rails for the 2002 Z06. Mine are leaking like a sieve. You mentioned in a post that the actual Plastic trim/rail is not the issue but the underlaying sealant. Both sides of my trim have a 1/8" space at the top of the windshield just before it curves along to the horizontal roof line. Do you think if I carefully remove the trim and use 3m caulk rope (dum dum rope) that this will be the solution? I'm hesitant to use a permatex type sealant as this would give me one shot at it. (Probably impossible to separate the plastic trim from the sealant a 2nd time). Have you done a successful repair in this regard?
