Hello All,

Since I just recently bought my 98 c5 vette the security light comes on solid while I am driving and sometimes it did not come on.. I couldn't figure it out.. Well I figured it out now...

If the key is in the ignition cylinder, all the way in, I get no security light while driving, But if you take off quick from a traffic light and the keys slide out/ back a little it triggers the security light on the dash, It will not reset till you restart the car... Just thought I would share this with you guys, You probably know this already but WTH... Hope it helps someone...

Thanks for that, you may have too much weight on the key ring for the longevity of the ignition cylinder-

After reading about issues involving the ignition cylinder wear, I removed all stuff from the key ring except Vette key, 'fob, and house key.

yup, That's what was happening to me, One day ill swap out the worn key cylinder..
