Default Post #976 about Clutches

When search "clutch" it only find three threads? Anyway, I did heads, cam 224, TPIS, Blackwing, Stingers, should be around 420rwhp. I want to do the clutch once. I road race and run hard on the street. Drag maybe 10 times a year no slicks. Is the stock Z06 assy strong enough? The car has 65K miles and drove fine before H/C. Now it slips over 4 grand (3-5th) and whenever I powershift. The throw out bearing is also squealing now:rolleyes: A buddy has a SPEC 4 disk with a spec 3 PP. Guess I also need the Z06 slave and drill the restrictors? Sorry to repeat posts, thanks! :seeya

ZO6 clutch is fine unless you launch with BFGs or spray.

My Z06 clutch blew out with the mods in my sig. I was on street tires too. Maybe i just got a bad one from the factory but the car only had 5k miles on it when it started to fail.

If I didn't go with the RAM VDS system with the 910 DISC

I would definately go with the Spec Stage 4 Ceramic.

Both have great holding power from what I have read. Very minimal problems posted about either, and they are both very affordable.

My RAM was slightly more because of the billet flywheel, but I assume they would roughly be the same price otherwise.

BTW,
Did that clutch make its way back to the shop

My factory Z06 clutch has turned to mud after 10k and has been difficult for the last 3k and I've only been to the track twice (but I did use ET Streets). I do a little weekend racing with the local guys. My rwhp is simular to yours, but not untill I had about 4k on the car, so after 3-7k I finished the factory clutch.
