Ok get out the . I’ve finally gotten my mind around how stupid expensive headers for our cars are and have decided to make the leap. I will be including a catted x pipe as well. Is there any consensus on which brand fits best, has the best build quality, etc? Is there an appreciable difference in 1 3/4 vs 1 7/8 power wise? I’m leaning toward LG Motorsports Street Series 1 3/4 w/ catted x. I have a feeling i’m totally over thinking this but if I’m gonna spend this kind of $$ I want to make a good decision. I should also mention my heads are currently at Texas Speed getting larger valves an a mild CNC port job. I needed to replace the valves due to some abnormal wear. So while I was in there.... You know the rest. . As always input is appreciated!
Kooks, arh, stainless works, lg are 'll good options. 1 3/4 are more than enough on n/a setups and will have better low and mid range. 1 7/8 will sacrifice down low a small amount and gain 6 or so at the very top.
^^^what he said. What kind of budget do you have? I went a cheaper route and had major fitment issues on the passenger side which resulted in relocating the o2 bung. I would go Kooks or ARH if I were going to do it over again. 1 3/4 on an NA motor. Get the matching xpipe to go with it.
I have Tri-Y headers on my car and switched to 4 into 1 headers on a recommendation. Not a good move, the Tri-Y blew away the 4 into 1 headers in the mid-range and gave up nothing on the top end. I would look for Tri-Y headers if it were me. Needless to day the Tri-Y went right back on the car and the 4 into 1 headers were sold.

I recall tri-y being the go to headers in early Mustangs for the same reasons. Do you recall who made yours and where you got them? How do they fit? Thanks!

Belanger which is no longer in production and Pfadt I believe were the only mass produced TriYs for the C5.
Kooks and ARH both fit very well and I'd go 1 3/4 unless you are forced induction or over 400 cubes. I have no idea on the fitment of the Pfadts.

Didn't know Belanger stopped making them. I think the Pfadt are still available from another vendor, or I seem to recall someone advertising them within the last year.
