Mean Green's position makes sense to me. If someone wants/needs to get nasty, e-mail the target directly. Unfortunately, if the moderator lets it go, pretty soon there will be nothing but negative flying around. At that point, I'm gone.
Mean Green, you're the umpire. Make your calls, I can live with that.
Thanks for your hard work, time and dedication to things Corvette!
THis is just MHO but I would LOVE to see this whole board cleaned up.
It has gotten where no matter WHAT one post there will be a half a dozen folks that jump in to dispute the information in the post.
I thought this place was for discussion and information EXCHANGE.
Not a battlefield!
It's done in a manner that would NEVER happen in person because SOMEONE would walk off with a busted lip.
It's just too easy to hide behind your keyboard. A little cowardly don't you think?
Please, can we be CIVIL here??? I hope.
Oh, I hope I haven't inadvertently hijacked a thread or two along the way.
If I have please forgive me.
Best regards to all of you in my extended Corvette family.

That's our goal. We are going to start enforcing civil behavior much more forcefully.
We simply ask that everyone respect each other and each other's opinions even if you think that they are an #*&$#. Be polite. Be considerate. Feel free to disagree, but do it in a civil manner.

Re: You Should Know..... (VetNutJim)
I agree wholeheartedly with VetNutJim's remarks and with the concept of improving the forum.
It amazes me that given the cost of a Corvette, some individuals on this forum never "purchased" any class along the way. I have been pleased to note that on OT, people are beginning to make rational arguments instead of resorting to name calling...makes debating much more fun. Mean Green, I think that a warning should be given before throwing someone out, unless the transgression is blatant.
I think the problem stems from someone telling us their experiences with a vendor/tuner/product etc., and another member either disputing it or attacking the first poster...
I think we should be ALLOWED to either PRAISE or BASH any product/vendor/tuner, provided we have direct experience with them.
That is informative, even though some posts may be negative.
Hey, if someone had trouble with a vendor or a part, I'd like to know about it.
I'd also like to know when someone has a favorable experience with a tuner.
If everyone would agree to stop the slandering & fingerpointing at someone making a post, weather they agree or disagree, a lot more infomation would be available for US to diseminate.
That I believe is what this Forum should be for... the distribution of information about products & vendors based on firsthand experience.
From: My tolerance for stupidity is at an all time low.

If everyone would learn this and apply it throughout all aspects of life, not just on the forum, it would go a long way to solving or easing a lot of problems in this world.

Re: You Should Know..... (Mean Green 2000)
Nor does it mean members with unresolved problems with a vendor can’t start a thread to share a factual account of their problem with the vendor after they have made a reasonable effort to resolve the issue off-line.
As long as you have to freedom to post factual accounts of your good experiences and your bad (as long as you have made every effort to solve the problem offline beforhand) then I think the system will work just fine.
Sometimes people get out of hand and show their lack of class...
I agree with MG2k, and recently had an experience which bears on this topic. I had a problem with a large supporting vendor, and had taken it to email a few times before coming to the forum. I wasn't happy with the run around I got in email and politely detailed my account of the events of my experience. I had people jumping in, calling me a ***, etc because they didn't like my stance...it was completely uncalled for, especially since I had so politely detailed the events...
The forum helped me resolve the situation, in the way it was intended, and I was thankful for that. I believe it turned into a WIN-WIN for myself and the vendor, even though it showed the ignorance of some of it's members...
i think that it was definately due. the northeast section is boring now but thats the fault of whoever participated in the bashing and the click forming. :troll :troll :U
Don't want this to be taken the wrong way, but people should also keep in mind the other "Golden Rule".
He who has the Gold makes the Rules.
This site is free to us as Corvette fans, lovers, enthusiasts (whatever...you fill in the blank) to share our experiences with people that have the same common interest in one of best cars ever made. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
