I'm pretty familiar with the issue with the active handling/tcs module failing after some time, but my question is this: I've been getting just the Active Handling Error - Service Vehicle soon message only, nothing else. I was under the assumption that if the module were to fail, I would have multiple faults, i.e. active handling/tcs, etc... I read through the stickies and did a search but couldn't find anything relating to just that error, or my searching on here just plain sucks. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
p.s. Finally was able to get get her out of storage today. What a lousy spring it's been here in Ohio...
Steering Position Sensor Circuit and it's a history code. May be a bad connection or low voltage. Do you have a good battery at 100% charge?
I would like to think I have a good charge. Replaced the battery last year before I put her away for winter storage. I also had it on a tender throughout winter. Is it rare for the steering position sensor to go bad?

Sounds like the battery should be good. I have no experience with the sensor. I am sure others that do will chime in.
I've cleared it a handful of times - keeps coming back.
It is not uncommon for that sensor to fail. Unlike earlier years the sensor for your 03 is sill available. Check the connections, you will need to disconnect the steering column to replace the sensor.
Yep that is the swps going out. Happened to my '04. The part number is 88965543 and they cost about $70. You can change it yourself or take it to a real corvette mechanic. Takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to replace.
I get the message from time to time, but I've got a ignition switch issue. If I let the car sit for a while (week or two) before starting it I'll get the code. The way I understand it is if the computer dosen't get the proper voltage it throws a code. if I drive it every day I don't usually get it. I just reset it and keep on keepin' on. May not be your issue but food for thought.
Years ago this happened a few times on cars that were not driven very much, after a long cold winter it would appear. The solution at that time was replace the SWPS or what a few did was raise the front of the car a few inches off the ground, turn the wheels lock to lock about 100+ times, turn the engine off and clear the codes. On restart and there after the code went away. If the SWPS is the problem the code will reappear.
