I just upgraded my 98 RFA to a 2001-2004 RFA module. I was able to program both key fobs with the newer style. And these work great all the way across the parking lot were as the old one work sometimes just right next to car.
So the car still has the old stlye sensors still in the wheel but I expected that I would get an error code for missing sensor. Also going though program menu I only have the key FOB no TPMS learn.
My new sensors will be here Friday so wondering why no erro codes and no learn function
Hum Id did find this. So I wonder when my new ones come in repeat and it will work again?
Post Title: I found a way to disable 97-2000 low tire warning system,no messages

There have been many posts in the past inquiring on how to turn off the low tire monitoring system on the 1997-2000 C5 so that no messages will pop up on the DIC.I stumbled upon this, and it should work for those adding custom wheels with no sensors,or for those that prefer to eliminate the system all together rather than replace faulty low tire sensors...
1st,simply disconnect then reconnect the electrical connector to the low tire/door lock control module located over the left rear wheel well. When doing so,the module looses its logic and no longer looks for a signal from the low tire sensors. You will then have to reprogram your remotes, and of course,do not relearn the tire sensors
Okay right from the 98 service manual "if the training message cannot be displayed and IPC is functioning properly check the BCM is configured with correct RPO code.
I find it hard to believe the quote you found would work. The early module and early BCM didn't need any way to disable the TPMS. That didn't happen until 2001 when the Z06 was introduced.
The used module you bought came from a Z06 and had the TPMS function disabled. You can't fix it in your car, you need to exchange it for a module not from a Z06 or find someone with a newer car and a TechII that will let you borrow both to enable the TPMS function in that module.

Looks like you were right. In this link they were trying to delete it were as I want to enable it.
