Hey guys. So currently I have a stocking 97 with 170k & climbing. I am in the process of slowly building up a LS7 to put in the car. I know I will have a lot of supporting mods to do, one of them being a fuel pump. Is there a good fuel pump that will work with what I have currently that will also work for the upgrade later? I hate installing everything at once. You replace so much, and as soon as you have an issue, there's multiple parts changed so hard to tell exactly what it is. Just my thought process. I've been looking into the Lingenfelter pump, just wanted to get ya'lls thoughts. If you guys have any other recommendations, let me know.
Also, since my 97 does have a fuel return, how do people go about plumbing fuel on a swap like this? Do they change out the fuel system to a returnees system like the newer cars? Thanks.

racetronix makes a nice drop in kit with a 255 pump... they may also be able to get a 340 pump in there, you might ask them about that first... you can also fit a walbro 450 if you don't mind modifying the bucket just a bit... also make sure to get the fuel pump harness from racetronix, it bypasses the crappy factory wiring and runs a heavy gauge wire straight off the alternator to make sure you don't lose voltage to the pump

Will these all work with the 97 style return fuel system? Or will I have to change it to a returnees style?

they will all work with your setup... if you decide to use racetronix they make drop in kits for the 97-02 and 03+ tanks for sure with the 255 pump but you might call and ask if they can do a 340 instead which would be a better pump for bigger power... the 450 is a great pump too and would probably support a built n/a ls7 on e85 if you ever decided to go that route
