Fuel mystery

Fuel mystery
I’m aware that C5’s have an issue where the gas gauge reads incorrectly. Mine seems to read fine until about a half a tank, then suddenly drops to empty with a “LOW FUEL” warning on the dash. I usually drive it for a bit, knowing I have about a half a tank before getting gas. Today, I actually ran OUT of gas and drifted to the pump. When I added fuel, it only took 12 gallons. How is this possible? How can I run out of gas with gas still left in the car?

i dont know..still learning about all the the C5 systems, but this is what you need to figure out....we have two gas tanks how does the gas get from one side to the other and how with two tanks does the fuel capacity get measured and how does the venting work to move the gas from one tank to the other. my guess is that the answer lies in those answers
OR...Just hope 8VETTE7 chimes in and provides the answer.....one more system i can check off my how does it work list???
thanks again bob
