Hello guys new to this forum. I was thinking of doing HCI and headers on my corvette c5 4l60e with 2800 stall converter. Do any of you have any advice or thoughts and concerns since this is the first year of C5 corvette with older module. I'm just seeing if you may have run into any issues thanks
There are some distinct issues with tuning a 97 or 98 with extensive engine mods using the 97 or 98 PCM. Here is a link to a process for upgrading those years to a newer PCM:
Pay particular attention to the link in post #28 of the above thread.
I have no personal experience with tuning the early year cars but thought the link above was worth your read before you step into this. HTH
Thanks 8vette7 I will read up on this. I'm going to have modifications done by a Chevrolet mechanic. he does great work and does tuning with hp tuners but I don't want to have any failures that cost big bucks after.
You should be able to do simple tuning to get the HCI to work properly. If you do more extensive mods, that's where the newer PCM swap comes into the picture.
I could type pages on stuff that you need to do to make this a reliable build. Why don't you just call me when you get a chance.
