I've been getting my car ready for the A&A blower kit this fall/winter. A lot of it is just fixing the BS 17 year old corvette stuff. But some stuff has been added with the blower in mind. My goal is 530 or so to the wheels. That's all i need out of this car. It'll see some autox and maybe a HPDE here or there but it's really just for fun. i might hit the drag strip for giggles but i really don't care about what I run. I'm on 305's and not going to run DR's.
So right now:
01 coupe with ls6 intake
Dewitts radiator and SPAL fan setup
TSP long tubes with mid pipe (ceramic coated)
New pinned harmonic balancer
Unknown clutch (just got the previous owner's phone number from FB, i need to call and ask)
single rib diff
Guys were talking about bracing the trans/diff and doing some other strengthening. For my purposes do you guys see anything i need to remedy?
106k miles. Just talked to the original owner. He never put a clutch in it. also has stock cam. I was planning on leaving the cam.
So my shopping list is looking like it'll need a clutch sooner than later, when i do that i'll do the slave and associated stuff.
What should i be looking into as far as trunion kit and springs?
I went with BTR, but CHE and Straub make comparable trunion bushing kits, DO NOT get Comp trunion. This is preventative to prevent needle bearings from coming loose in the rocker and trashing your engine.
As far as other supporting mods the tick slave will prevent shift lock out at high rpm shifts but you need to bleed your slave which is a pain. If you do that you might as well install slave, remote bleeder and clutch.
Could also do a cam, if you pull heads might as well replace oil pump, oil pickup tube gasket, timing chain, lifters and valve seals given your mileage.

Jam cam, BTR 660 valve springs, lifters, ARP head studs, BLOWNBLUEZ06's timing chain, Melling 10296 oil pump and I also used BTR's timing chain dampner . Have fun with your build
I guess i should ask... what HAS to be done lol. If i really should pull the heads and do valve seals and everything i can. Springs make sense. and all the clutch stuff i'll do when i do the clutch (makes total sense to do it then).
If i need to do timing chain, etc all at once i will too.

There was only 2 reasons I pulled the heads, I changed from my stock 241 heads to the 243's and to put in Johnson tie bar lifters
I would do the engine items I mentioned before boosting given your mileage. The oil pump, chain, lifters and stock needle bearings likely all or one need servicing. While doing that you might as well do a cam.
Hold off on clutch work and see where you are at after boosting.
I'm only making a measly 450 RWHP (heads cam ported fast 90) and here is what I did so the car would survive.
ECS Brace
Tick Master
SPEC dual disk clutch/flywheel/new pilot bearing, slave cyl
Quality remote bleeder
Hardened differential parts from a C6 ZO6 up--grade
WIDER TIRES (non run flats)
PFADT Differential mount
I also hardened my trans with a Transzlilla T60/60 MN12 conversion with a trans hardened output shaft
I have a 1/4 inch thick aluminum tunnel plate. You can install a better than c5 OEM, C6 OEM Tunnel Plate
Higher compression ported heads with dual springs and Ti retainers.
ARP Head stud kit
ARP Dampener bolt
Pinned Powerbond Dampener
Home Ported FAST90 Intake, ported 90mm TB
Vararam
Things that I recommend
Better engine mounts (poly or new non worn out OEM) Your OEMs are probably toast!
Tick master
Melling high pressure oil pump
timing chain dampener
NEW TIMING CHAIN!!
New lifters IF you get a new cam
Better heavy wall push rods
New lifter buckets
Better heads
ARP Head Stud kit
Wider more sticky TIRES!!!
BETTER SHOCKS! I installed the C6 ZO6 and have been VERY HAPPY!
NEW TT Rubber couplers

I'm all for doing a cam but just a warning if you do, it will easily make well over 530rwhp if you let it... you would have to run a huge pulley to slow the blower down enough to keep it around 530 and it still might make more but will be laggy due to the larger pulley/low peak boost
If you are not doing a cam I would not crack the motor open to do lifters, oil pump, chain but if you do, do a cam and everything listed. If sniffer emissions are a concern go with a LPE GT2-3 or CamMotion drop in cam.
I would swap out likely to some quality beehives if you keep the stock cam, and some good 11/32 push rods. Get a quality clutch in it, with remote bleeder. ATI balancer is a must.
Research, read and read some more in the forced induction section. Google searching the forum should turn up some good topics.
