Default Header EGR/Air block off?

Installing a set of xspower headers on my 02z06 and notice the headers came with block off plates for the AIR Heat. Im installing catless x-pipe. Anyone block this off and pull all the air pump stuff out up by the drivers headlight and the all the plumbing involved? From what i have read all this is for is emissions to heat the air prior to going into the converters. Im having the car tuned after install, so guessing i could have this fixed by tuner if i was to remove. Any good reason this is even needed anymore? Its basically doing nothing I think.

The AIR system is only operating for a short period on initial start. So long as you're allowed to get rid of it, do it.
Remove all plumbing (I still have part of the rear cross over tube behind the intake manifold, I just cut it short), install both block offs, remove the pump, block both hoses off that were connected to the pump.
One of them is vacuum, one fresh air for the pump. Both need capping.
Yes, you'll need to tune it out.

Did you cap off the small vacuum line on the back of the manifold??? WHY?

No... did my words make it seem like I did? I capped it where the pump was, there is a vacuum line going to the vacuum cannister. I plugged it there where the pump was connected.

Yes but,, I am glad that you clarified.

Sounds like you did it the correct way!

The non-lazy best way would be to cap it at the cannister, but close enough for me (none of my hoses seem brittle so should be good).
