Hi....My name is Rick and I'm new to this site....Here is my dilemma...I had a garbage plastic bag that went under my car I didn't know that this had happened until the car started over heating.....I did noticed then that the plastic bag had wrapped it self around the cooling fan... and after I managed to pool the bag off the cooling fun the car still overheat....does anyone knows what I should check for...??...Fuses...Relays...modules...at c..??
Thanks....!!
NOTE: I had actually posted this dilemma on the wrong Forum....someone suggested I should post it here.
I'm not knocking the screens. I made one myself and it works wonders for keeping crap out of the radiator cavity, but if the bag was wrapped around one of the fans the screen will not stop that. OP needs to pursue the problem using the good info above. Good luck hope you find the issue.
You first need to give the entire cooling syste a good once over:
1. Do BOTh of the cooling fans come on when they are suppose to. If you turn on the AC, the second fan should come on when the primary fan is On.
2. Is the area where the air enters the radiator under the front bumper free of trash, sand dirt and debris?
3. There is a SPACE 1" between the actual radiator and the AC Condenser. If you remove the plastic top cover over the radiator, you can inspect that space and see if it full of dirt and grass. COMMON ISSUE!!
4. Do you have the new updated radiator expansion tank 18 pound cap? If you don't, get it and replace the ole OEM one (15 lb cap)
If your car overheated due to the plastic bag, it could have damaged the thermostat causing it to no longer function properly. You can remove it and test it in some boiling water to see if it opens.

What is your coolant to water percentage??
Bill
Bill, is the 15 to 18 expansion pound cap recommended for all years? I have the 15 in my '04 but had no overheating problems so far.
Thanks,
Ron

Thank you Bill...!!!...I just can't believe the amount of responses I go from people....and I consider my self lucky to have people like yourself giving me your knowledge without hesitation.... ..Thank you very much...!!!! I will take your advise and the advise of some of the other Forum members and see if I can get that cooling system to work. By the way...I'm in Canada...we don't mix the antifreeze with water...

LOL!!! Cold as hell?? Must be to have to go straight coolant... Straight coolant is THICK and needs some water. How far below zero do you need????
rrwirsi YES,,, It is now the standard cap.. They don't sell 15s any more.
