The code is C1296 H, which I believe may be a brake pressure switch or issue??

It also has a couple HVAC codes B0361H, 0367H and 0441H.

Before replacing the switch I would examine the wiring to the switch for damage and insure the connector is making good electrical contact to the sensor itself. I would also check all the grounds in the engine compartment to insure they are clean and tight.

Here are some links relative to grounds on the C5:

If you end up needing to replace the switch here is a link to the ACDelco part on Amazon:

Switch is located on the body of the EBCM. Here is a link to a diagram:

Item #2 in that diagram.
Thx for the info and the links, I'll check those items out. Appreciate your help.

I think the c1296 code is an issue with the o2 sensors, but when I had HVAC codes start showing up they all went away once I installed a new ignition switch. Been 3 weeks now and not a single code. It's a good bet that after 14 years your switch has some burnt contacts that are setting off the codes. C5's are finicky in that regard but 60.00 and an hour or two of your time will correct it.

Many other threads on the Forum about the C1296 and replacement of the brake fluid pressure sensor. Here are just a couple:

I do agree that the ignition switch can be the cause of many different codes popping up when there is actually no problem with the reported system.
I guess that some codes can mean different things for different mfg -- this is the page I pulled up for that code. Thanks for the correction.
