I know there are alot of threads on alternators and I've read the sticky but I still have a few questions. I have a 2000 C5, with 1000 watt amp. I bought the car used and the dealer put in new alternator and battery. However the alternator is a PepBoys 140 amp and I'm getting the faulty charge DIC. So my questions are.
1. where do a get an OEM replacement 10246634. I have seen on DB electronics and Rareelectric. Anyone have these?
2. would the 110 be enough for the amp?
3. i have seen a couple on ebay, is it worth buying used and rebuilding?
4. does the 10131682 work, i see some saying it does others say no. Sounds like the only difference is the decoupler.

If you are going to take the rebuilt route, take a look at this post. It has info on the right regulators for both, 97-01 and 02-04. The price is around $30.
