I have the FLP's also and am very happy with them. The downside would be that they will wear out sooner than stainless, but for people in the south, I don't think this will be much of an issue. I'm not concerned the least, that I will wear this header out.
What do you mean they will wear out? I'm still learning about headers and trying to decide which ones to buy. I need something that will last a long time because I put some major miles on this car.
I have the headers and love them. They are coated so they will still last a long time but stainless would out live these. I only drive the car in good weather and do about 6k a year so I am not concerned with wearing them out.

On another note... p0rtmonkey,I am one broke 19 year old :yesnod:  I used to be one broke 18 year old after I got the car but now i'm 19 and still broke  Oh and hows the law treating you with the loudmouths and being young. Up here nobody bothers me...i think that is a little weird but its better than getting pulled over.

I have a feeling i'm going to be broke up until about 8 years from now once I finish med school .... anyways man I haven't ever been pulled over for having one of the loudest cars in aiken. Not even for just suspision for having such a young guy driving such an awsome car. I'm getting ready to add some long tubes and cut the cats off :D :D :D
We do not see any down sides to mild steel headers if they are coated. If the coating is not scratched, the coating should last 10+ years!
FLP's are our best seller for obvious reasons...let us know if we can address any other concerns or questions.
we will have them in stock hopefully next week. they have been on backorder for a while now...
1599.00 is our everyday price for the kit.
yes, they are coated. thanks,
FLPs are great longtube headers. I decided between them and Stainlessworks headers to tell you the truth. I only went with the Stainlessworks coz I already have a Bassani X-pipe in the car and I like the heat containment properties of SS - they just hold better under high heat. Not being satisfied with that, I had them coated by Swaintech. FLPs have two selling points to them, they are true bolt-ons and they come with hi-flow cats. True bolt-ons make them the easiest to install (no welding) and easier to return to stock for smog test reasons.
That is a great page you made about the install! :yesnod:
I plan on getting the FLP's sometime in the near future, and I bookmarked your page for future reference. About how long did it take you start to finish? And while you made it sound simple, were there any things that gave you trouble in the process? (ie: frozen bolts or 02 sensors, etc)? Just wondering....
Thanks again for the webpage effort and great pics.
I had a 95 Mustang GT with the 5.0L/302. I put after-market headers it, but had to constantly monitor the header bolts. The would slowly back themselves out and leave me with an exhaust leak :mad
Am I going to be up against the same problem with my Corvette???

I have had 3 LS1 cars with headers, SLPs, MACs and FLPs on this vette and never had the header bolts come loose on any of them. I just went over them once a few days after install and forgot about them.
I'm on my way out the door to pick up my FLP's right now. I'm so excited! I've had the car torn apart for a week now, and can't wait to put them on! :D
Thanks Black Magic, for the install page, it was a great help. I did have problems getting the drivers manifold out through the bottom, so I had to take the alternator off, and pulled it right out through the top.
