Borla Performance System???
I have seen Borla Performance Systems and then the Borla Stinger system. It seems that the forum members are talking mostly about the Stinger system. What's the deal with Performance system as compared to the Stinger. It is a lot more expensive also.

as I remember there are at least 4 Borla systems:
1) the XR1 which I have - it has a center resonator/muffler, and there are no rear mufflers. There are two 4in tips. The stock system must be cut.
2) the Stinger - similar to the XR1 - in sound and appearane, however, there is no need to cut, the pipes bolt on over the axles. Also two 4 or 4.5 in tips, I'm not sure.
3) A system with the XR1 resonator and two rear mufflers. Four tips - either oval or circle.
4) The rear mufflers only, four tips, as in #3.
In order of loudness - I'd say XR1, Stinger close 2nd, #3 because there is a resonator and mufflers, then #4. Not many people seem to have #3 or #4, I'd guess there isn't much sound difference as the only real answer, most systems - Corsa, Borla, etc. cost about the same and have 4 tip designs.

I believe the reason the performance system is more expensive than the stinger is that the performance system is from the cats back and the stinger is not.

Just a note for some of you guys that want a stinger system. They sound nice, but a bit too loud for my vert. I just put them on a few days back, and drove the car for about twenty minutes before putting it in the garage. I'm changing back to a quiet system, and will sell the new stingers to the first guy that doesn't insult me with a price.
