Default Dexron 3

I need to change fluid in T56, in my 1999 Corvette.

At Walmart I see Valvoline Dex/Merc and it says for GM pre 2006 models.

Maybe buy online or at parts store, I don't know about putting amsoil in it just yet, it appears I have a leak.

What should I use?

YES.. Get the dex/merc.. It's the old Dexron III fluid that gm used in our c5's.
Change it way more often than you'd think and you will be just fine !!! No need to overthink this.. Its a slam dunk

New pump hoses curly, not good for trying to stick into gallon jug of transmission fluid, what to do?🤔

A hose clamp, screwdriver, and some electrical tape.

That Walmart pump worked fast!

Probably 3-5 minutes.

Is the residual transmission fluid in the hoses and pump (I'm draining as mush as possible using gravity) a issue when pumping in new gear oil?

I could wash the hoses out with simple green and water, but not sure how long it would take to get 100% dry, so maybe do the gear oil on another day?

Too me, that's crossing the line into over-thinking things.

So don't worry about a little transmission fluid getting in differential?
