C6/C7 parts that fit C5
This is an attempt to create and maintain list of C6/C7 factory parts or combination of factory parts that are a direct bolt on replacement and properly fit/function on the C5 without modification.
If you know of something that is a direct fit and not on the list please post up! I will modify.
If you see something suspicious on the list please post up! I will modify.

C7 was a ground-up redesign, basically nothing (factory original) swaps between them.
C6 ... a lot of stuff swaps, especially underneath the car. A bunch of suspension components either direct swap or swap with some work; a bunch of drivetrain components direct swap or swap with some work - and that includes engines, with the right adapters and such for your stock computer.
Wheels will bolt up but you need to check the offsets to ensure they bolt up properly. Generally people run the same style wheels with different offsets, though you don't always have to.
Shocks bolt straight up.
Sway bars, far as I know, bolt straight up.
Control arms don't quite bolt straight up.
I believe most brakes bolt straight up but there might be some issues, do your research. Certainly the rotors will mount, calipers will mount, but there may be clearance issues depending on wheel etc. Similarly, for aftermarket stuff, a lot is C5/C6 but you need to do research.
A bunch of aftermarket stuff is designed to be okay for both cars.
What specifically are you looking for?

I am looking for direct fit components. What bolts on with no modification or issue. Obviously I am not talking about engines. I only modified C5s when they were new. No newer components fit because they didn't exist....except they did because they were carried forward into the newer cars. I am interested in a knowledge repository of these parts. What factory parts from newer gen cars fit a C5 with no modification.
If there isn't one....someone who knows something about it should make one.

Looks like the C6z calipers and disk including C6 GS will bolt right up to stop spindle and hub. But, recommended to swap to c6 2011-2013 spindle and hubs since they're slightly larger.
Don't think the ZR1 will bolt up. Bare in mind, your stock C5 rims will not fit and need aftermarket rims but no clue as of yet Which C6 rims will fit.
I am researching to swap to big brakes c6z

C6 seats fit in the C5, but you need an adapter harness (or change the connector) to plug them in.
C6 Z06 differential internal components can be used in the C5 differential - great way to beef it up to handle more power and sticker tires.
C6 T56 or TR6060 along with the C6 differential and rear subframe have been swapped into C5 as well.

C6 ZO6/Grand Sport brakes are a direct swap WITH rotors.
C6 Base and Z51 Calipers are a direct swap
C6 Spindles are a direct swap, as are the A-Arms
The catch with swapping the entire rear C6/C6Z driveline is the exhaust on the C5 needs to be extended to clear the over axle area. It's close but not quite a direct swap in.

IIRC, GM Marketing said the C7 shared 4 parts with the C6. So, highly unlikely it shares much with the C5.

The C6 was basically an evolution and/or refinement of the C5. The C6 engineers and designers as a starting point had a list of "issues that needed fixed" with the C5. That is why there are so many parts that can be interchanged between the C5 & C6. When the C6 was first introduced , some even referred to it as more of a C5.5 than a true C6. Changes in 2006 and again in 2008 help to further differentiate the C6 from the C5.

LS3, no. LS2 intake fits, but you'd need the corresponding throttle body. Then on top of that you need a throttle body electrical harness adapter and a MAP extension harness (LS2 is front mounted MAP vs rear on LS1). Physically the Intake Manifold and THrottle Body would bolt right up but you'd need the peripherals to make them work.

Wasn't there something about removing the rear trunk well (for the mini spare that never happened due to the development of the GY run flat tires) that allowed for a more straight through C6 type exhaust system and possibly even enough room for 3" pipes vs the 2.5" used on the C5?
