been messin with the code service traction control codes have installed new brakes and checked all speed sensers conections checked all ground connections now hitting options and hittin fuel 4 times my codes will not come up is there a certian amount of times you can check codes on a c5??
You can check the codes any number of times , right up until that area of the instrument panel frys
and then you will need a scan tool to retrieve them. Check the fuses in the passenger side foot well but from what I have seen the instrument panel will need to be replaced
do not have them garage a mess and girl freind doig a clean and tidy up trashed paper with codes now i am not able to retreive the codes gonna have dealer do scan and see if they can find a fix but with all reading i have done i suspect the answer to be the control module if that is the case than hoping that i can still drive the car with the service traction control message

Also...OP, it will be easier for someone to help you if you write sentences. It’s pretty difficult to follow what you’re saying.
yes i do hold options while at the same time repeating fuel 4 times, diagnostics will not come up as for dic, if you are referring to the message center on the steering column than yes it does work

Ok this is a common problm when reading codes on ANY GM car---GM hides the fise to your OBD2 port on your cigarette lighter fuse----If it is blown you cannot read any codes
Check the cig lighter fuse------
PS this is why it is NOT a good idea to use any aftermarket devices that plug into the cig lighter As it is only a 15 amp fuse and often blows with chargers or aftermarket devices
an update.....constant traction control message changed all brake pads front and rear....no fix....front rotors looked good but back rotors had wear so went ahead and changed front and rear rotors at the same time cleaned all connections on my wheel sensors.....service traction control message gone....frirst tme have seen competive drving message....heck yea all s good still cannot acsess the codes but gettin rid of that service message made my day gonna nvest in a a good code reader thx all for the help

Problem is a code reader as capable as the On Board Diagnostics are is about $500 for the software, a few more hundred for the PC to run it on and more than likely a few bucks in cabling. OBD II readers can't read body codes and you have to find special versions that can read any ABS or Air Bag codes.
Both the traction control system and the ABS braking system uses data from your 'wheel speed sensors' located at each wheel---The data from these sensors is used by the TC system to prevent the rear wheels from spinning on a hard launch and by the ABS system to prevent the wheels from skidding on a hard stop-----Better scanners will tell you which wheels sensor is bad HP or EFILIVE tuning software would be ideal but someone with a TECH2 or equivelant will be able to isolate a specific wheel sensor
ALSO Have you changed your tires different than stock ???? if you did this also can be a problem---
The TC and ABS system is programmed to only work correctly when you retain the same difference in heights between the front and rear tires That being the rears are exactly 1" taller than the fronts
If you alter too far away from this difference you will get TC and ABS codes This differnance is NOT tunable--Yes you can fix the speedo and do shift point corrections on an auto trans but still the ABS and TC may not work right and if too far off you'll get those messgaes--

My favorite these days for diagnosting my C5 is using the using the VXDIAG VCX NANO interface (112 USD on ebay) together with the Tech2win fon a 15.6 " screen .
Using with a 10ft USB micro cable I can have the laptop outside the car when troubleshooting .
A codereader can normally only read codes and a limited number of live values , but with this tool (equal to Tech 2 ) I can activate relays , view all signales , perform a lot of special functions (auto bleed of brakes... )
