After a long day and night of drag racing my 1998 C5 shows "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" on the DIC and the TC stays on constantly and will not turn off. From the owners manual it seems the only effect will be the inability to have TC on. Since this car is almost 100% drag race I don't want TC anyway! Are there any other effects?

I bought my 1999 C5 new and had the traction control light come on just a few months after I got the car. I found a defective connector under the car. It was an oblong plug with maybe 6 to 8 pins. When the plug was connected at the factory, the female sleeve has two tabs that lock it into the plug, the female pin wasn't locked in place and when the two plugs were pushed together that male pin pushed the female pin out and had only slight contact, which I lost and hence the light. This was almost twenty years ago so hope my memory hasn't failed me also no problems since 70,000 miles later.
