Looks like a huge job. What other items are a good idea to replace during this? All radiator hoses, radiator, ac condenser, seem like would be a good idea.

Honestly all those items are unrelated to the project, other than belts those items aren’t disturbed during the balancer removal and installation. Having said that, it would be a convienent time to deal with a water pump, or cam swap if needed. I replaced all my belts and hoses at the same time, just for peace of mind since mine were all original and 15 years old.

interesting. Ok. I saw another post where it said coolant needed to be drained, radiator taken out, air box taken out etc to get to the h/b. Maybe that post was wrong. So you were able to swap the hb without draining coolant etc? Would love to hear your process. Thanks.

No need to touch the rad...just do a you tube search and watch it be done...worked for me

When I get home from work I will pm you a few guides for the project, that are step by step down to wrench sizes and torque values. Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff!
My HB is getting replaced right now. I just purchased a 99 two weeks ago and it had sat for 3 years so there are lots of things I'm doing to make it a good daily driver. After reading the sticky that listed everything to look at including the HB, it was one of the first and boy was it wobbling! So my local trusted mechanic is replacing it along with belts, charging the AC, changing out the front main seal, replacing hoses and changing oil. I've done the plugs and wires, performed the AIR pump delete to remedy a check engine light, and changed the air filter.
The HB made me also feel very uncomfortable so getting it changed out will give me peace of mind. Since it has 120K on it, it probably needed some of these things anyway... Good luck with yours!

I noticed that the ATI balancer is available in steel/aluminum, or all steel. Is there an advantage or a caviat for one over the other, aside that the aluminum is a little cheaper?

mainly weight savings with the aluminum vs steel body

I had gone ahead and bought the aluminum one. Someone else had used it on a stock C6 and had favorable results with it. I have a 2001 convertible, all stock from new. I just don't feel comfortable with the movement in that pulley. I'm doing this now with the best parts and tools, so this gets done before I retire at year end.
Good question. I looked the atiracing.com website and it said that the C5 ZO6 with OEM diameter is the same as well as the weight and material. The Shell assembly # and Hub # are both different. I have no idea what that means.
Started my '03 Corvette with 35k miles on it. Checked out harmonic balancer while idling, it has a slight wobble. There are no belt noises. My question is a slight wobble normal? Should I be concerned and prepared for a replacement in the near future. Thank you in advance. Rob
Had no noise on my 2001 and continuesly snapped belts. If you haven’t snapped a belt don’t stress it but if you do even one time get it done with
mine ever so wobble very slightly and makes no chirps or noise but thinking about having it replaced. I was quoted 850 - 1250 just the labor. I live in an area where everything is damn expensive. Sigh.
