I bought a C6 Shifter kit online last winter as my old C5 manual shifter just felt a bit sloppy and even after loosening everything and setting the neutral pin, finding reverse was still becoming a huge PIA...
Since the weather here in Detroit is slowly improving, I figured it would take maybe an hour to pull the old one, put in the new one, adjust everything, and put the interior back together. Funny how these old cars have other plans...
Apparently the screw on the shift tube didn't align quite right and acted like a wedge, opening up the collar that grabs onto the shaft coming out of the shifter, and splitting it in two! Never saw this coming... So far so good... Seems to keep turning?!! @#!!
