Default C6Z shocks on C5Z

Hi everyone. I’m looking to change the rear shocks on my C5Z and I’m finding a bunch of different part numbers and prices. I think I have the right part number (10302877).
Looks like they are about $75 each. Does this look familiar to anyone that has any experience with them?
Thanks!

Not positive if those are the C6Z shocks or not, I don’t believe they are. The part numbers are 10313647 for front and 25819268 for rear on the Z’s. I have them on my c5z btw and like them

Default Shocks

I run C6Z shocks on all 4 corners in combination with C5Z sway bars. Was a very popular mod back in the day and works well. Someone else can chime in here but I would do all 4 corners.

Please don't just replace one set of shocks. REPLACE BOTH front and rear!!!
If the rears seem worn out, then the fronts are just as bad!

YES,, the C6 ZO6 shocks will put a smile on your face!

You will ask your self.. MAN, Why did I wait so long to do this mod????

Are you able to describe the improvement one could expect?

Absolutely.. Here is a story for you.
Purchased my 02 ZO6 new off the lot. It was AMAZING. At approx. 36,000 miles on the clock I started noticing that the car was no longer as stable when I would attempt to take high speed entrance ramps onto the highway (aggressively) The car wanted to hop side ways off the turn if there was any uneven surfaces in the turn. Loss of wheel contact with the road surface!! Talk about a butt pucker!!

After a recommendation from a Forum member, I installed the C6 ZO6 Shocks and the car was even more responsive to emergent maneuvers than when it was new!
There are better shocks out there for a lot more money if you do HPDE or want to really impress your friends but,,,, bang for the buck, you can not beat the C6 ZO6 shocks. If you have the FE-1 Base suspension, I recommend that you search for some good used Z-51 or ZO6 sway bars with metal end links and or the better Z-51 or ZO6 springs to make the car really handle well. Look in the C5 Parts for Sale/Wanted section.

REMEMBER,, the better handling Z-51 and ZO6 cars suspension are built around a specific spring, sway bar shock combination. Just adding better shocks will solve part of the problem. WORN OUT SHOCKS. To get the best your car can be, do the whole package.

YES, you will get a very good improvement in handling with just the shocks.

If you are worried about ride harshness, you could get the C6 Z-51 shocks and still benefit from a better handling car. I personally enjoy the C6 ZO6 shocks. I really didn't notice any additional ride harshness over the OEM C5 ZO6 shocks.

Thanks! I have a stock '02 Z06, low miles (25K), but i am slowly giving it some TLC, this seems like a good item to add to the list.

I have done exactly as Bill described and I am very pleased with the results. I got the c6 Z06 shocks from RockAuto and Z06 springs/sways from forum members.
Huge improvement over the stock FE1 22 year old suspension.
Tip: Buy the Moog endlinks, I bought the metal OEM looking ones and they started popping in a few weeks. Had to do the job over. Also do the whole job at once. I did the shocks first while I was gathering the other parts. It was an excellent upgrade over the worn out shocks but it would have been much easier when the front end was apart for the spring. It's like doing the job 2x if you split it up.

Guys,

Have you got some front rear part numbers for me? Sounds like a good Winter mod for my '01 Z

I'll be the odd voice out and say, if you're willing to spring $300 for C6Z shocks, spring $450ish and get the DRM valved Bilsteins. Next level of performance for not a lot more $$

They're more like $200 though, before shipping
