Pasive lock works when off

Pasive lock works when off
Hi guys,
My 1999 passive lock/unlock works even with the button slid over to off. It does this on both fobs and both have new batteries. I want it off.
This could be another clue. After the car sits for 2 days the key fobs do not work until I resynchronize them by holding down the lock/unlock buttons. Then they work perfect.
I really do not want to go to the dealer.
Thanks guys.

Make sure that the slider on the FOB is actually sliding the switch on the FOB circuit board. Then get into the OPTIONS and set the passive setting to OFF.
FOBS needing resync: How is the cars 12 Volt Battery??
Have the battery fully tested at the auto parts store and see if it survives in a fully loaded condition.
When you Cold Crank your engine, the starter pulls a LOT of amps out of the battery. If the battery is weak, the battery output voltage will drop low and the BCM will temporality (a few milliseconds is all it takes) shut down until the starter no longer needs a lot of current to spin the engine. Causing the resync requirement. If voltage drops LOW, that can contribute to the FOBs having to be Re-Synced all the time Trust me,,, BEEN THERE, FIXED THAT!
You can test it yourself. Get a DC Volt meter and put it on the battery terminals. Have someone cold crank the engine. Observe the voltage before, at the very start of cranking and during cranking. If it drops below 9 VDC any time during the cranking evolution, you will be needing a better battery. 10 VDC is my threshold..
