Hi, I'm getting hot air out of the drivers's side vents and cold air out of the passenger's side vents whether it's on vent or AC, fresh air or recirculating. It's done this since I got my 99 coupe back from the shop who repaired the wiring last week. I had some fried wiring between the alternator and starter. The starter was also pretty toasty so he replaced the starter. He also ran new wiring from the alternator to the battery. My question is this. Is it just a coincidence or is this problem something he could have done inadvertently? I did some research on the hot/cold subject here on the forum and it points to an actuator. Could it be something else? I don't want to rip out the entire dash just to find out that's not the problem. Thanks, Jay
Most of the time it is just low on Freon. When mine does the cold on pass and hot on driver a refresh on the a/c Freon takes care of it for the summer. As long as the air flow changes when you go from dash to defrost and bi level you actuators should be working. Check that first.
I was getting hot air out the drivers side and cold air out the passengers side as well. I was also getting a bit of hot air out the drivers side with the AC off. The problem started immediately after the GM garage replaced the oil pressure sending unit. Those symptoms plus a higher than normal idle led me to think they didn't get the vacuum line attached. Reconnecting the vacuum hose on the rear of the intake manifold fixed both problems. YMMV.

Okay, I'll try the defrost function. It was just refilled with Freon last year. The passenger side blows really cold air, just the driver's side doesn't.

I tried the defrost and it works but get this, the outsides of the center defrost are cold while the middle of the center defrost is warm. This was with the AC on.
