I have a c5 with a 416 LS3 making 510whp and I wanted to run it at the drag strip more consistently, so far, on the stock t56 and diff, Ive been able to do a 1.75 60' but the car needs more gear for sure. I wanted to install 4.10s so what is the best budget upgrade to 4.10s? Is it easier to buy a built diff and have it swapped or to build the current diff? Will the stock t56 hold up to 5000+ launches with 4.10 gears? I know Corvette drivetrains get expensive to mod so my other alternative is to buy a fbody or fox that is set up for drag.
You're probably going to get several differing opinions on this. And it depends on if you're installing/swapping the case yourself. You can buy a "built" diff and install it yourself for the same as you'd pay to have someone else simply regear yours. The "preferred"/recommended way is to buy a built case from a reputable shop. I just a built one in the classifieds for 2500-3k, that's about what I'd expect to pay for what you're looking for.
