Well two road trips and two flags lost. First to fly away was the red one from the rear deck and returned yesterday from another trip and the red flag from the front is AWOL!
I replaced the rear emblem 2 yrs ago with an after market piece which failed a year later. What’s the deal with the red flags? Poor glue, thin plastic that buckles in heat or a combo of both?
Anyone else have problems with the emblems?

Mine were 17 years old when I sold the car and they were stuck fast as good as new. I would say don't wash your car with gasoline and diesel fuel and you should be good.
K Spaz Good advise. . Maybe when I replace the emblems I’ll put a piece of duct tape over the red flag. LOL. I guess it’s just my dumb luck. Other than that my 2001 vert has “good bones” and runs like a top with 78000 on her.
My 1985 never lost any emblem parts when i pulled the oems in 2008, my 03 still has original emblems and intact. Front silver is peeling but..flags intact

I still have to think either you or a previous owner used something when cleaning the car that dissolved the glue. I don't think I've ever heard of this before.
K-Spaz, you might be right. I lost the first flag shortly after I bought the Vette. I just had a thought.....I pressure wash the Vette....maybe that’s my problem.

It happened to me with both front and rear emblems. I think if a car spends a lot of time outside under a hot (Florida) sun, that glue does break down eventually.

You folks are all overlooking the obvious (because you don't live in cali) Vehicle emblems are a hot commodity out here with your High School crowd. Not all emblems , but the big dollar cars have a tough time. A quick walk through the wrecking yard out here and you will have a tough time finding Cadillac emblems, Benz emblems and ours? I paid like $135.00 for both of mine and they are plastic.
So Im thinking that they did not fly off but got pried off and stuck to someones school book or sold on thee corvette black market

No doubt true, but I watched mine fly off all on their own as I was driving down the road. On top of that, the black "frame" for the flags looked like it was melting apart.
