Default Having problems after changing belts and Hoses - Help????

I just flushed and put new coolant in my car. While doing this I replaced the t-stat, upper and lower radiator hoses, surge tank hoses and both belts.

Well immediately after this the new a/c drive belt came off and got chewed to pieces. :mad Anyways I had it on correctly and lined up. Now I am noticing that I have coolant leaking from just above the a/c idler pully. It is not from the t-stat housing. It only appears to leak after the car sits long enough to cool off. Is the waterpump leaking or could I have a gasket leaking. How do you tell if it is the waterpump or the gaskets or do you replace both just to be safe. fortunately it is cool hear so I don't need the a/c right now, but I need to solve the other problem before I tear up any more pricey belts.

Have you checked to make sure all hoses are on tight and not leaking? Chasing a leak to its' source takes patience. Try wiping down all hoses and surfaces around the water pump and a.c. pulley. Let time move the coolant and feel/troubleshoot towards the source.

I think these are two separate problems, both caused by the replacement job. I have a feeling that the belt was not routed correctly or the wrong belt was sold to you. As far as the leaking coolant, tighten all fittings and watch them as your engine reaches operating temperature. You have to catch the leak the moment it happens; otherwise, the coolant may spray on another connection and cause more confusion.

Good luck and have patience.
