I have a 2001 convertible. The fobs (both of them) will lock and unlock the passenger door but will only unlock (not lock) the driver door. All other functions of the fobs are working properly. Any help in troubleshooting would be appreciated.
Same thing is happening with my 2001 coupe. The driver's door will not lock with the fob or with the lock button on the door itself. I'm pretty sure it's the actuator.. when I get around to doing a speaker upgrade and have the door panel off, I'll fix it then. For now it's no big deal to just manually lock the door when I get out.

I just checked and mine is working the same as yours, the driver door will not lock with the button on the door or the fob. Both the fob and the button, however will unlock the door. I agree that it's no big deal, it just bugs me when things don't work right.

The door control modules have a number of relay's in them and there are numerous threads that discuss them and their functions. The symptoms you've mentioned sound as if they can be related to the failure and some of these posts cover how to remove and replace a failed relay.

do a search on your tube for scruffs garage door module. He walks you through the repair.
FWIW the service history for my new to me C5Z shows a quote for replacement of both door modules and the HVAC display at a cost of 2k + 5 hours. The old ones were in the trunk and both work so I assume it was done...
