No problem. I just realized that guide uses the '01-'03 valley cover, rather than the '04. However, the key point is that the LS1 blocks need some grinding to make either of the new valley covers fit.
What is the difference between the '01-'03 and the '04 valley cover? Here I thought that all LS6 valley covers were the same. Does that mean I need to look for a 2004+ LS6 part specifically?

The '01-'03 LS6 valley cover uses an external PCV valve in the attached hose
The '04 LS6 and LS1 valley cover has a fixed orifice built into the hose fitting
Yes, I'd specifically look for the '04 version since it's the best. The part number that k24556 put in post #11 is the one you want.
