Default DIC not working PCM swap

Newbie question...

Searched for this but did not see anything specific to my issue.
Bought c5 and DIC buttons did not work.
Did an unsuccessful PCM swap and DIC buttons started working.
Reinstalled original PCM and DIC buttons no longer work.
If I understand correctly the DIC does not communicate with the PCM but does communicate with the gauge cluster.
Maybe a coincidence? Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Update...
So it started working again for a few minutes then stopped again with original PCM.
Not sure why. I have not driven the car all week just trying to figure this out.

Clear ALL the DTCs and see what comes back. Post those DTCs.

Some questions:

What is the condition of your battery? I would fully charge it and have it properly tested. The PCM has nothing to do with the IPC other than its on the same serial data buss. The buttons have all to do with the IPC. I would pull the IPC and check the connections for the button panel. May need a replacement button panel.

BC

Thank you for the reply Bill!
The battery is a new AGM about two weeks old.
I did pull the IPC and looked at the wiring and connectors. Looked really good and clean with no damage.
one thing I did not mention is when the DIC was working there was an options button ground code.
