Also to add, new plugs and wires just installed. Also popped off the fuel rail and plenty spilled out so the fuel is there.

Refer to post #18. Again no RPM equals no crank position ref signal. Without that ref, the PCM doesn’t know what position the motor in, so no spark. You mentioned you saw bare wire...If the insulation on the wiring is worn/crack/missing you need to fix it. Use a multimeter to check the wiring...

Well after nearly a year hiatus, I recently started working on my car again.

I found that once I hooked up the trans and diff, my engine turned over and started as normal.

Not too sure why this is, but in my case the engine would not turn over without having the rest of the drivetrain connected.

I am just relieved that I don't have to keep chasing problems and can finally get it back on the road

A moot point now -- but when I just did clutch/trans/diff job in my Z06, I couldn't get it started afterwards, because I left the harness connector for the fuel pump unplugged (on RH side of trans).

Worked like a CHAMP. My neighbors didn't like the 10 PM light off (OPEN HEADERS) but I did. Mmmmmmm,,,,,, SWEET MUSIC! Especially the "quick" rev to 6000 RPM NO VIBRATIONS!! Sorry neighbors...

There is a VERY thin black wire at the block ground (behind the battery ground wire eyelet) that is the PCM ground. Make sure it is connected to that block ground. The wire is small but the eyelet is large and it suppose to fit on that ground bolt for the neg battery wire to the engine. When you remove the drivetrain, you disconnect the main connector at the rear of the tunnel. Make sure that it is connected.

Do you hear the fuel pump PRIME at key on?
Do you have fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the front of the fuel rail (drivers side)?
Do you have spark?

All questions to answer. The Crank Position Sensor is inboard to the side of the starter. Make sure that you didn't damage the connector and or wiring on that sensor. If you use the internal DTC reading routine, it will tell you if the CPS is bad. .
question? what is the main connector at the rear of the tunnel when disconnecting the drivetrain ? having similar problem
