So I have the message to remove key wait ten seconds. Battery was dead took it to have it charged and tested, Tested good. Can’t pull any codes because message won’t go away. No issues before. No security light, but does shut off when trying to drive. No steering lock message. And checked bcm looks good no corrosion. Any ideas or tips will be greatly appreciated!
LMC5 module from Compliance Parts is the answer. It worked for me and I believe it to be the most effective solution. Takes a bit of DIY- but if I can do it, almost anyone can!

One of the most common C5 issues. Dealt with this 1 week after I got mine. Good news is there is a TON of info by folks that have already gone thru this. I would start by doing and advance search for "Column Lock" and you are sure to find what you are looking for.

Is column locked or just the message? When GM did the recall and assume your car had it done yrs ago they programmed in a 2 MPH fuel shutoff is reason it is shutting off. 2 MPH shutoff was to cover there behind in case the recall didn't work. LMC5 is your best avenue for resolution. Around 40-50 bucks. Good luck with it.
no column lock message just the pull key and the shut off after 2mph. Lmc5 is ordered be here next week. Today out of boredom I tried to start the car to find a battery under 10v not allowing car to start. When parked a few days ago battery was freshly charged and tested from local auto parts store. I did disconnect neg battery terminal the other day before calling it a night. Do y’all think bad battery causing issues as well? Or can u get a parasitic drain with neg unhooked?

Low battery voltage can cause MANY C5 issues...with negative battery cable disconnected you will not drain the battery if you do a have a drain but you need to address that first !!...don’t know your skills but there are many YouTube videos on how to do a parasitic drain test.

Bad battery definitely causes problems on C5 for sure. I wouldn't think you would get a draw with negative unhooked but not an electrical guru. My guess is bad battery, how old is it? Good luck with it.
I’m actually an electrician so I do know my way around circuitry and a meter however... Not really complicated dc circuits but with you tube I should be able to figure it out lol. I’m having a hard time believing battery is good, even though oreilys is saying its testing good. Thanks for all the help I’ll be sure to post what I find

If you do perform a parasitic drain test don’t do the “pulling fuses” procedure but “voltage drop” instead...you’re an electrician so shouldn’t have to walk you through it !!
Make sure your battery is good have it charged and load tested again at a different auto parts store, and no there is no way a battery can be drained with negative battery cable disconnected.
