2001 C5 convertible, , doors do everything but LOCK LEVER does not move to lock position lock lever opens with FOB and door panel, but does not close , could be relays or door lock module any ideas or suggestions appreciated. checked fuses no help
I would hope the problem is age related, and a clean and lube will do the trick,
Good luck, since that remedy is just a guess, but I would think that would be the first thing to investigate, and any other problem will be easy to spot once you have the door lock exposed and are checking the mechanism. perhaps something got bent , since it still locks , however without full function. if it is in the electronics, forget I even attempted a guess.
My locks throw automatically above a certain speed, I would think if your convertible does not do that, it is electronic , and not a mechanical fault. I am sure there is a fault code for such an event, and you should post the displayed codes so that the more knowledgeable posters can use that to indicate a path towards repair.
fi all else fails, I have heard the better brands of duck tape are good for over 200mph, just probably safer to not lean on the door in the curves after such a repair.

I have the exact opposite problem my locks lock from FOB/Door controls but do not unlock. The passenger lock has been doing this since I got the car and it just started happening on the drivers side too. I can unlock/lock them manually but not electronically.
So far my research suggests that it might be a bad/corroded connector between the door and the main control module that can be cleaned up and treated with some dielectric grease (which I need to acquire) or the relays on the Door Control Module (DCM). Of course they don't sell new DCMs anywhere so if it does end up being that I will have to scour the junk yards or send mine in to a guy who refurbs them.
To continue does any single unit or part control the lock mechanism on both doors. Does one door lock actuator slave from the other, or from the relays. Or are both doors completely independent of the other.
thank you for any advice
Got this off an old post. As for the antennas that is looking for the fob, they are located just behind the door pad in the B columns (RCRLR is in the middle of the dash that will pick it up, as well the as the antenna in the back bay the hatch, but the two in the B pillars are ones most likely to pick up the fob first).
When you are done with the pads, pull the rear hatch button and clean that up as well. If you did not know that it was even there, it works when you have the fob with you in your pocket, so you don't have to take the fob out of your pocket to open the hatch/trunk from outside the car.
While you still have some Cleaner left, then pull the Fobs and clean them up as well. On the fobs, don't go crazy with a tooth brush since you can snap one of the small wires, but do everything a good shot of cleaner. Also, god only knows how old the battery are, so replace some Energizers 2032's to replace the batteries in both fobs. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...ement-diy.html And here is the extra step I take pulling the rubber and board out of the front cover so I can clean both side, and clean the lint/grim out between the front cover and buttons with contact cleaner
