I just purchased my first corvette, a 2002 corvette c5, have not got it home yet since it is in the middle of the winter here in Sweden.
in somewhat of a worry mode right now not being sure about ground clearance since my garage has a 2 inch edge just at the door and the c5 i purchased has front spoiler and side skirts.
Biggest worry i have now is that the front spolier or skirts will scrape, so im asking here for some input.
What is the measurement at lowest point on the front end? I would measure it...
My vette is lowered all the way on stock bolts and I stored it away for the winter. There’s ~2” edge on the entrance, my air dam is pretty low so I just back it in. I never it heard the front rub or scrap.
If I was you I would slowly back in and see how much clearance you have... it might be close since the skirt and spoiler extends front further out...
Also if it’s got skirts fitted there’s a fair old chance someone has lowered it too. Either on the stock adjusting bolts or aftermarket. At least they can be raised up again with relative ease.
I had to make a ramp so as one side of my car wouldn’t scrape and that’s with no lowering (yet..) and no front spoiler fitted!
I had same problem last spring and this was my solution...there is only 70mm clearance from the rubber spoiler to the ground and groung clearance maybe 90mm, no problems Any more. I also first used reverse gear in order to drive it in but floor was almost hitting to the concrete, this is better now.
