Sounds like everything is going to be taken care of (amen) on all fronts and I elected to go with Kooks at their suggestion. I am leaving the diameter size up to them but I think may as well go 2” into the Kooks 3” catted X pipe. Cam motion will help spec the new cam. I will be back on business.

Anyway, super relieved to know that everything will be sorted.

I've had Kooks 1-7/8 on my C5 for 16 years. Good quality, well made.

AHP said I could go either 2” or 1” 7/8 with the new cam (specs below) which was spec’d by AHP and CamMotion (Kip). I evidently need LS7 D port headers to fit on the Archangels (that also package under a C5). I reached out to a CF Kooks vendor so let’s see what happens there (?) but that can be done right ?

6-8 more MORE weeks minimum down on top of the 17 weeks it has been back there since I had to bring it back in Jan . I do have faith though ! Right ?!
Hopefully this all ends soon.

New 434 Cam Specs:
234/246 duration @ .050''
117.5 LSA, 114.2 ICL (117.5+3) .639''/.630''

This is a very mild cam for a 434 and wide lobe separation. You will have excellent driveability.

You will be very happy with that cam, Who is grinding ?
Pretty close to the area I was noodling 236/248 114+3
Yours will drive like a kitten at idle and low rpm parking/traffic.

It is just a big swing from the other cam (.720 lift in Sig) where I was asking for the same qualities. Super nasty idle (as much as is achievable w/ excellent drivability) numbers be damned. I figured the extra cubes and Archangels (and now 2” headers) built around that other cam would give me some flexibility in that regard but whatever. I will trust the experts but it seemed like a small cam with a big LSA. I am not an expert, as long as it sounds thumpy I will be happy. I am also adding green cats to keep the smell down. This experience just needs to be over.

The new cam is a pretty mild cam for that engine, but it is by no means a "small" cam. The wider LSA will help with idle and drivability, and help create monster torque. Bigger isnt always better. The smaller cam, if better designed to the parts you already have, will probably make more power under the curve at the sacrifice of peak HP numbers. It will be a lower peak number, but you will have more of it at a wider range of RPM. Not to mention it will be easier to tune, and the street drivability will be great. I dont think you will be disappointed.

Thanks, I am going to go with 2” Kooks into Green Cats/X-pipe !
They will weld the LS7 flange on for me.

Hey come to think it......my old C5 LGM Long Tube headers (previously used on this build) did not have the LS7 flange. I previously used them on a set of AFR 205’s on an LS1 block. What is the deal with the correct flange ?
