IMO... better to be safe than sorry. I run skinnies up front because CCW advised that it is the right thing to do. To each his own... if you choose not to, thats fine, I just do not want to do things half butt. If the serious drag racers recommend it, that is the direction I will follow. But again, you can do anything you want... just be aware of the dangers, because it is more of a danger NOT having skinnies up front.. ....is it worth it, it is your choice indeed..... I wouldn't chance it, but that is just me.
I run Et Streets on My z06 I have no issues with the car getting squirrely. I have run mixed set of tires on drag cars before. Its not the optimal situation, but as you say, to each is own. I have run them on loose leaf spring cars with sloppy factory suspension, with way more movement than any Vette.
I cut 1.65's on my ET streets. I am using a 84 Corvette wheel. It is 16x8.5 and it required minor clearancing of the A-Arm (not nearly as much as some of the other pictures I have seen from others), and I had to grind the fins on the inside of the wheel to clear the brakes. The wheels were free, and the ET streets were pretty cheap also. I have less than $300 in the whole setup.
Has anyone tried stuffing the Hoosier 28x10x16 tire in the back of a C5 yet?
Keith
Two that I've seen, Stealth-C5 and Blackthunder (car is now owned by kwik8rcr). Seemed to work very well, only trick was that I think you need to cut part of the wheel well for it to fit, but I'm not sure.
I run the CCW drag setup on my car and love it, the only way to go. My best 60ft is 1.53, but I'm sure I'll do better once I get some more track time with them.
I wish i had 2 g's to blow on rims! I am going to just put some old TA or z28 rims on mine for spring. On some ET's also. probably go with the 16x10 1/2 or 16x8 1/2! :D
You asked if a 15in wheel will work. It will NOT push up onto your rotor. There is no way a 15in wheel will clear the caliper. Tried a couple different wheels and it will NOT work.

Hey Keith
Thats what im looking for in the spring, where did you end up buying them and if you dont mind sharing the price you got them for.
And yes i have seen a few C5's Running these tires and i think they look good on them....
Currently Running E/T Street and they dont fill in the voids as well as a Hoosier, My buddy has a set and he hooks real nice on the street and the track!!
FWIW..I called Mickey Thompson and they will be introducing a 17" E.T Street Drag Tile in March..Should fit on 17 " x 9.5 Y2K wheel.. :yesnod:
Do you have the phone numberI would like to give them a call? I can wait that long, they should fit on my 17X11 GS, I think! Especially if the size is a 26X11.5-17:yesnod:

I spoke to them a few days ago about the 17" E.T. streets. They are changing a few things on it and it'll have to be tested again. I hope they're ready by racing season.

Re: Some ET Street Questions, please (GS 883)
GS 883,
The et streets and skinnies rock on the track and on the street. I drove half this year with the et streets and skinnies on the street with about 3K miles on them with zero problems on the streets and no flats either. I drove several times to the track 140mph round trip and then downt the drags well into the 11s and back home
Not only this but they handled great on the highway with speeds up to 90mph. Even on turns they are 1000% better than most think but watch the DOPPLEr as you don't want to get caught in the rain and highway entrance ramps will have to be taken at 40 instead of 75mph!:D

ps-WIth MTI 427 going in next month i plan on running the et streets and skinnines about 8 to 9 months out of the year as they hook up 100% better than anything else on the street, and lord knows the mich pilot sports will be about as useless as my old runflats as i will be dealing with 500rwtq!:D
