Are TPIS headers legal in California??...also what is the best header (makes the most horsepower and torque) that is legal in California??....because I have heard of some headers that are not legal in California.
Does anyone know??....also are RK long tube headers legal also??
When you ask if they are "legal", by what definition? Do they have a CARB number? No. Will a cop throw you in jail on a felony violation if he pulls you over and looks under the hood? No. Will they pass the smog inspection visual test? No.
The only headers that are legal in California for C5's are B&B shorties and JBA shorties. No other manufacturer has taken the time to apply for a CARB # although Edelbrock makes long tubes with a CARB # for every other LS1/6 application except C5's
Well be "legal" I mean, will it pass a California smog emissions test??....but it won't pass the visual test though??..hmmmm....what kind of housepower increase and torque increase did those B&B shorties yield??...as much as the TPIS's or the RK's?? :D

Legal means they have a CARB # which means they crunch the numbers and pass the visual. I can't say how much horsepower or torque I gained because I made a few other changes as well. I would expect TPIS or RK's or any other long tube to have better results.
