11 pin HUD cable ???

This is going to be my last couple of questions on this subject;

Is the 11 pin cable, that everyone is referring to, the one that plugs into the HUD control switch???

I have a 99 with a HUD capatible cluster, when I put the HUD control switch in, do I need to replace this 11 pin cable or can I use the exsisting cable???
