Default Broken C5

Car can’t go above 55 and has a harsh downshift to 1st and also seems to struggle getting out of first the gas pedal doesn’t work unless very lightly on it and cruise control also works sometimes. Took it to a shop and got it back after getting the transmission diagnosed and fixed and I didnt even make it a mile down the road for the car to 1)not accelerate above 55 just like it used to and 2) sounded like the whole transmission was blowing up lastly 3) the car died and I couldn’t get it to turn over. If it isn’t the transmission then what is it ? Or did they just do a very bad job ?

You could try to pull up to code from the DIC, take time, pen and paper to note them all, search on the forum how to do.
then you can post the result of the search on the forum to get some help.
good luck.

If it is a reputable shop, they should stand behind their work. Did you get any lights on the dash? If the car won't even start, I would be concerned that it is something other than your transmission. I agree that you need to pull the codes. What you've described definitely doesn't sound good.

I wouldn't. Clearly they dont know what they're doing. I'd try to get a refund then take it somewhere else.

Isn't 55 mph the limit when the car is in limp mode? The codes should show what is going on. They may have done a bad job on the tranny but the speed issue would not be there. The accelerator pedal would also indicate a bad potentiometer in the pedal housing. I had to replace one on a 97.

I've also used my phone to make a short video of the codes. Works for me......

Took it back to the trans shop and got recommended a different auto shop so I took it there got it diagnosed as a messed up ground wire, got that replaced. Then it was the throttle body giving the car issues, should be getting the throttle body replaced with a 92mm up from an aftermarket 80mm.

The vehicle has a speed sensor in the trans. since everyone seems to be guessing here I would look into the speed sensor being bad and limiting the cars vehicle speed
