The other day I had my 2000 out and noticed that after starting, the SECURITY light on the dashboard stayed solid. The car drove and ran fine.
After I got home, I took a pencil eraser and cleaned the chip/resistor on the key, re-inserted it into the ignition, started and the light went out. Figured I was done.
Yesterday, the problem came back with the same key.
I then inserted my other key, and no problem, no SECURITY light.
Would I need to replace the one key and would I get it programmed, etc. to match the car?
My SWAG, MAYBE. Try squirting some CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner in the key hole. After having some issues with my keys several years ago, I used this spray and have had no further problems. I did not replace any keys.

Get the correct key blank and have it cut at any hardware store. There is NO key programming required. Measure the resistance of the pellet on your key then look up which key blank you need, DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER. Can get key blanks on Ebay.

I sprayed with CRC MAF cleaner and so far so good.
